Pastor Kevin L. Nelson Sr. is the senior pastor and chief servant of the First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown. He is a visionary leader of great humility with a servant’s heart; whose ultimate aim and goal in life is to contend for the faith of Jesus Christ once delivered by the first century apostles.

Because of his great zeal and love for all people, Pastor Nelson continues to serve as a volunteer teacher, instructor and preacher of the gospel inside several correctional institutions, and various other organizations since 1979.

He is a former Trustee Board Member of Simmons College of Kentucky, Boy Scouts of America, and currently serves as a board member of Teen Challenge of Kentucky. He also has a heart for foreign missions and is currently active in developmental projects both in Kenya and Haiti.

Pastor Nelson matriculated at the American Baptist College and the Emmanuel Baptist College in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Victory Bible Academy also in Nashville, TN and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from Simmons College of Kentucky. He is currently in pursuit of his Master’s Degree in Theology.

He is also an entrepreneur who owns and operates K & B Fashions Clothing Store. He has been married to his lovely wife Linda since 1983 and God has blessed their union with four beautiful children; Kevin Jr., Chan, Hosea and Kimberly.

God has used Pastor Nelson to win many souls to Christ locally and globally. His mission is to bring millions of souls into God’s kingdom, and his motto is to be the Greatest Servant of All!
